Explore the northern cap of Southwest Michigan wine region — The Fennville American Viticultural Area. Most of West Michigan is known for its fruit orchards and rolling fields. Our Northman route provides a scenic drive through the farm country. Each winery property we visit has a rich history of fruit farming. This route will appeal to a range of wine enthusiasts, taking each palate from traditional Michigan wines to wines pushing the boundaries, thus giving Southwest Michigan a fresh face in the North American wine industry.

The trip starts with horseback riding or carriage and sleigh rides depending on the season. A beautiful backdrop of forest and countryside.
We then continue our wine country adventure as you sip your way through each winery.
Winemaker & Estate Tour*
Winemaker and Estate Tours offer an exceptional way to experience Southwest Michigan wine country.
This experience is 5 hours.
Everything from Northman Signature Wine Tour experience is included.
Get exclusive time with the winemakers themselves. You will join a larger group at the winery for your tour.

Unique to this route, there is a stop that allows our guests to learn and taste offerings from the rest of the state right here in the Southwest corner.

Mt. Tabor Sip & Hike Tour
Adventure awaits! Do you like wine? Hiking? Hiking WITH wine? Wander your way through the vineyards and forest terrain.
Everything from SXSW Signature Wine Tour experience is included, except for lunch.
A 4-hour experience, two stops — Tabor Hill and Round Barn, offered Monday – Friday & Sunday.
3.6 mile hike or walk with 3 paths of varying difficulty — the shortest hike being 1.3 miles.
This abbreviated day trip is perfect for those who are tight on time or just want to do something off the beaten path.

The Urban Route
SURROUNDING TOWNS: Benton Harbor, Kalamazoo, Mattawan, St. Joseph
Our Eastern Promises route features some hidden gems just west of the Kalamazoo area, featuring family focused hand-crafted wines. We will take you from an 1882 homestead estate with beautiful views and Old World-style wines, to a brand new winery run by local viticulture students, to a former 1930s diner on one of the major thoroughfares that was transformed into a winery by a couple of enthusiastic garagistes. This route's last stop is an urban tasting room of the first in the state licensed African-American female winemaker.
